Squirrels have adapted well to living amongst humans, frequently using our homes, cars, garages and sheds as nesting areas. In our area, problem squirrels are most commonly found living in attics and crawlspaces, making their removal a priority. Squirrels often enter into homes and other structures by finding small openings and chewing a wider hole to gain access into the building. Squirrels often bring nesting materials into homes and use existing insulation and other attic materials to create nests. Gray Squirrels are diurnal (active during the day) while Flying Squirrels are nocturnal (active at night), although it is not uncommon to hear any given squirrel species during the night or day.
